Call for Community Groups to be Centre Stage at Junction Fair
It is time for local community groups to take their place under the spotlight: Junction Fair is inviting local community and charity groups to fundraise and raise awareness for their respective cause’s in-centre. It is anticipated that there will be a different community group each week, for the remainder of the centre’s make-over.
The community group of the week is one of many initiatives that Junction Fair has implemented to ensure the centre is a true community destination.
Centre Manager, Leanne Perry feels that it is important to continue building relationships with the community: “At Junction Fair, we endeavour to provide a shopping centre that gives the local community a sense of ownership and belonging. Playing host to worthwhile community groups will give the centre an opportunity to not only support the local community but give something back. ”
Two groups which have already taken up the opportunity are the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and John Hunter Hospital Kid’s Club. Both these groups hope to use this opportunity to raise awareness and seek support. Australian Red Cross Blood Service will be in centre from 7th to 12th July and will provide shoppers with information on blood donation and pledges to donate will be available for any new blood donors. John Hunter Hospital Kid’s Club will be in centre from 28th July to 2nd August.
While Junction Fair continues to undergo an upgrade that will improve the overall shopping experience for customers, the community group of the week initiative will give shoppers a chance to get to know their local community and charitable groups.
“Junction Fair is a true community supporter”, said Leanne Perry. “This initiative will give community groups exposure and give shoppers the opportunity to support them”.
Local community groups wishing to be involved in the initiative are encouraged to contact the centre for further information on 4961 1830.
