Junction Fair will throw its doors open for a celebration on Saturday, 29 November, following six months of refurbishment works.
Set to ‘refresh’ the communities approach to shopping, the new look centre will be celebrated with a fantastic event the whole family will enjoy. From 11am the centre will be alive with colour and a touch of Christmas spirit when the kids and the young at heart will be entertained by a festive face painter, Christmas clown and of course Santa. Shoppers will be invited to sample mini cupcakes, champagne and orange juice as they take a look around centre and will have the opportunity to enter a Christmas competition, with great prizes donated by the Junction Fair retailers. All visitors to the centre will also be privy to VIP retailer specials that will be available on this celebratory day only.
As part of Junction Fair’s commitment to community initiatives, the limited edition Junction Fair Enviro Bags will be on sale during the event. The Junction Fair Enviro Bags are the finished product of the Picture Perfect promotion held in June. Twelve year old Sophie Johns of Adamstown was the winner and her beautiful design is featured on the front of the bag.
All proceeds from the sale of the Junction Fair Enviro Bags will be donated to Hunter Life Education. The not for profit organisation provides young people with the knowledge and skills to learn how to live a healthy life and realise their potential. Healthy Harold from Life Education will be at the event to entertain the children and remind them about the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices.
“After intensive refurbishment works, Junction Fair looks brand new! We have a range of activities planned to help celebrate our new look Centre and can’t wait to share the official opening day with everyone,” said Joanne Schembri, Centre Manager Junction Fair. “Improved interiors and a brand new entrance have given the Centre a fresh, contemporary look that I’m sure our customers will be impressed with.”
For over 20 years Junction Fair has been a key part of the community, providing locals with great food, gift ideas, fashion and helpful hints. The refurbishment has given the Centre a new-look but the service, variety and friendly atmosphere remains unchanged.
The $2.8 million project included:
· A facelift to the Union Street and Glebe Road façades in contemporary colours and with improved entries including new exterior lighting and signage to reflect The Junction.
· New and improved interior seating, show lighting and planter boxes
· Excellent amenities, with state of the art bathrooms and refreshed parents rooms
· Environmental initiatives including efficient water and light fittings, smart lighting controls and energy efficient lamps throughout the centre.
Junction Fair opened in 1986 and has supported local schools through its Earning 4 Learning Initiative, as well as offering space in-centre for charities to fundraise.
