Nextra Newsagency is now open at Junction Fair!
We welcome Dean, who has been in the newsagency industry for over 25 years! After working in the industry for many years in various roles, from shop assistant to manager, Dean felt the time was right to go out on his own and purchased his very first newsagency – Junction Fair Newsagency, situated in shops 1,2 & 3 with his parents (who are now happily retired) and owned the business from 2004 – 2008. The newsagency at that time was an independent traditional newsagency, so not under any banner or marketing group. Now, after 18 years, Dean returns to Junction Fair with his wife Carmen who has been in the Newsagency industry for over 15 years and their son Zane who is just 3 years old.
Nextra Newsagency offers a modern, welcoming space where customers can enjoy the convenience and familiarity of a traditional newsagency, alongside a carefully curated range of products including magazines, stationery, greeting cards, gifts and lottery services. More than just a retail store, the new Nextra aims to once again become a place where locals stop for a chat, pick up something thoughtful, and enjoy friendly, personal service.
Dean said returning to Junction Fair was driven by both connection and opportunity.
“After 18 years away, returning to Junction Fair feels incredibly special. This centre has always had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and it’s that strong community spirit that’s drawn us back,” he said.
“Newsagencies have always been about more than just shopping – they’re places where people connect. Our goal is to create a friendly, modern store that reflects the community itself and becomes part of people’s daily routine once again.”
